4 August 2008 Dear Warriors, I thought I’d give you a small update on Onesphore’s massive team outreach: basically things are going very well and we’ll know more in due course. One lovely story is of a high profile witchdoctor coming to Christ and enthusiastically inviting the evangelists to meet the other witchdoctors in the area. This angered their clients who complained to the authorities and had the evangelists arrested. They were held overnight at a military installation (no doubt leading soldiers to Christ in the meantime, as happened last year!), before being released again the next morning, as happened with the apostles! Opposition and fruit are going hand in hand. Onesphore notes: “This year’s outreach has highlighted how fast Islam is spreading around the country, with many teams having lively debates with Muslims.” We reckon that c.1,500 people will come to Christ EVERY DAY through one-on-one conversations, it’s incredible! Please keep covering our guys with prayer for safety, health, unity, anointing, boldness, sensitivity, power etc. Frenarie (+ Emmanuel) gave birth last week to a little boy, he weighs 1.5kg, she was seven months pregnant, so after four horrible miscarriages they have a precious son. He is obviously seriously small and underweight, so do keep praying for him in his incubator and through these early stages. I am so delighted for them after so much heartache. Preaching has gone well, two conferences down, two more to go this week, with six preaches by Saturday – these are all fantastic opportunities. Results from detailed tests show very little on my health front, but I feel great, so thank you Lord. The New Generation bus was crashed in to. Insurance doesn’t really exist out there (it was insured but you never get your money back), and that was key to earn money so the streetkids can eat. Please pray for cheap and speedy repairs, meantime they are losing money every day. There is a big city-wide mission happening in Bujumbura from 10th-17th, run by African Evangelistic Enterprise. They are a great group with a proven track record. I really hope it will have a deep and lasting effect, and that the churches get behind it in unity. If you want to pray for that, great, click here for more info: http://aeinternational.org/australia/images/stories/bujumbura%20prayer%20guide.pdf Enjoy the summer, God bless you, Simon Guillebaud |
