16 July 2008 Dear Warriors, Greetings! I hope you are well. I continue to be below par, which is frustrating. I've been into London to do some detailed tests, we'll see what comes of that. Interestingly, this recent bout of sickness kicked in shortly after a new resolution I took in my spiritual journey. About six weeks ago, I decided to get up at 530am to have time with God and go for a run before the kids woke up. It's the only time in the day I knew would be totally undisturbed, and I would be fresh as opposed to trying to pray shattered at the end of the day. I'd also read something along the lines of: "if you decide to really commit yourself to praying and going deeper with God, give it two weeks and see what the Enemy throws at you to knock the stuffing out of your new commitment". Well, two weeks later, I started feeling rough, and a month on, I'm still not better. I don't want to over-spiritualise this illness, but I do know the Enemy doesn't like us praying one bit, and will do anything in his power to stop us. Hence my being so grateful for you all, and please do pray for a quick and full recovery. I'm not languishing in self-pity, and I want to maintain my resolve in going deeper, but meantime it's a real pain in the backside! That's an update on my health, but my main reason for writing is this year's most exciting venture, which kicks off in ten days' time. Onesphore's Harvest for Christ warriors are soon to be unleashed across the nation for two weeks of passionate, bold and fruitful evangelism. 450 young people applied for the 350 places he's prepared (last year was 230, each year will continue to go up). People have heard how amazing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit was last year when faithful servants proclaimed the coming of the Kingdom in unreached areas, so they want to be involved. Last year in one-on-one conversations, just under 16,000 gave their lives to Christ. We are expecting 25,000 this time, what with the increased numbers of evangelists. It is a massive logistical operation. There is much to get done in the next few days. The Enemy will definitely try to thwart the outreach. Pray he will be totally crushed! I will actually send out a prayer letter to everyone maybe the day before, but wanted to let you know early to get more prayer back-up. GLO has found about $22,500 for this massive undertaking, and to fully accomplish what they had budgeted for, they still need another $7,000, so please pray in this money. Please pray for Onesphore and his team as they head things up. Please pray for protection, safety, good health, receptiveness, favour with authorities, and, as with last year, repeated demonstrations of God's power through healings, exorcisms, and most importantly, lasting conversions. I'm excited, and I hope you are too! Love in Him, Simon Guillebaud |
