Sapping energy, sucking blood!

Dear Warriors,

Hope this finds you on good form. Life's never dull out here, can you pray into the following:

The APRID crisis has come to a head with Josee, the (former) leader having forged a cheque for all that was in the account, $15,000 (a staggering sum out here), she was probably preparing to leave the country, is in police custody and facing up to ten years in jail - gutted, for her, her 8-year-old daughter, APRID as a whole, the terrible witness it is to 'the world'. May she be able to pay the money back. May she be honest and cooperative in sorting out this mess, and truly repentant. We need wisdom as to where to go from here.

Got evangelised last week for the first time in seven years in Burundi - sadly it was by a Jehovah's Witness. They are so devoted, whereas we just seem to talk about going instead of actually doing anything. Wake up, O church!

Dieudonne and the streetkids project are barely surviving, as with Joyeuse and the orphanage. Both struggle to get money for daily food. When they pray 'Give us today our daily bread', they truly mean it. It is hard to deal with these situations, very draining emotionally, and sapping of energy, when you care but cannot constantly bail them out.

A small personal thing - I have been plagued by bedbugs since we got back. They are evil, truly evil, I hate them. I have twice treated the bed and mattress in the sun with various special chemicals, and still the little blighters survive to suck more blood out of me by night and leave itchy blotches for the next several days. Die, in Jesus' name!

Zac doing superbly, Lizzie OK, back to studying Kirundi, may she persevere in it, and know God's guidance for what do be involved in beyond motherhood.

I don't doubt your role is key, God bless you for it!
