Dear All
Only
a few days now ‘till I leave for
Burundi
– on Friday 16 June.
I have just returned from a mini retreat in
Kent
. It was a good time away, waiting on the Lord to know more of Him
and how He wants to use me in this next visit. I feel much more
refreshed now. Recently things have been too pressured.
Please pray for me in these days before I go as well as when I am away
and have returned! Life is full before I go, with our Missions
weekend in Brockley, next weekend which I’m heavily involved in and my
last day at Uni of the 2nd of 3 years of my MSc in
Therapeutic Counselling on Wednesday 14th. I finish
work on Thurs 15th and then drive down to my parents’ in
Rustington,
West Sussex
. This time I have been able to involve them a bit more in the
work I will be doing in Burundi .
Please
find attached my prayer sheet for this visit. Hopefully you can
print it out, put it on your fridge or somewhere and remember to pray
for me and my Burundian colleagues during this visit! Do feel free
to give out copies to others too. You will see on the prayer sheet
that I have created a new email address for you to contact me when I am
in
Burundi
. It is alisoninburundi@beeb.net
I will not be accessing my usual address. Please do keep in touch!
Whilst I am away,
Caro Swan
from my Church, has kindly agreed to forward my emails. So if you
have anti SPAM email rejecting software on your computer / webmail,
please put the following email address as acceptable so you can read my
emails: notices@brockleycc.org
! If you don’t know what I mean hopefully it’ll be because you
don’t have this so you should receive the emails anyway. Should
any of you not wish to receive emails about my
Burundi
visit please reply quickly and I can take your name off the list.
My
younger brother, Andrew flies to
Basra
today where he will be
based for 2 months working as a navigator in the RAF. He was
having nightmares before he left and waking himself up screaming.
It is a pressured time for my family with him in
Basra
, me going to
Burundi
and my Grandma having been unwell. I would appreciate your prayers
for my parents during my visit as well.
I
am being taken to Heathrow by Pam Brooks on Friday 16th along
with a sewing machine weighing 20 Kg which I hope to take to give to
their friend William at Matana who had polio when he was 7.
William works as a tailor and relies on a machine to work and help earn
small amounts of money for his family.
If
you would like me to come and speak about
Burundi
and my visit when I return please be in touch. I am taking
bookings now!!!
Thank
you so much for standing with me in prayer. It is good to know I
am not going alone but as part of a much larger context here as we all
seek to serve Jesus in what He has called us to do.
With
love and blessing in Him
Alison
