Letter No. 8                                                                         9 April,  2006

Dear  Family and Friends,

Thank you for your prayers for our homeward journey.  It went well with wheelchairs at every airport.  At Nairobi Pat had to walk up a flight of stairs to the transit area, but was in such pain at the top, that he was ushered into the nearest lounge - the First class one.  There we waited for 7.5 hours with the luxury of armchairs!  It was very, very comfortable!

On arriving home, we discovered that a friend had phoned Exeter Orthopaedic Hospital, where Pat had a routine check-up booked for May 8th. on the off chance that an appointment could be made sooner to see the Consultant.

There had just been a cancellation for 10.30 on Monday, 10th.  So we're off at dawn tomorrow for the next stage of the journey.  What a wonderful answer to prayer!

Pat and Pam

Update 10 April 2006 from Jeremy Brooks

Pat & Pam saw the doctor in Exeter where X rays were carried out on my father's hip.  It appears that it is not damaged.  He is being kept in hospital in Exeter for blood tests and a scan, the results of which should be known in the next few days.
