Dear
Family and Friends,
Many
thanks for emails.
It’s really good hearing from all of you.
I’ve spent a night in Bujumbura to welcome Joan Botterill and now to say ‘Good-bye’ to Sue. Sadly, the electricity is off here as well!
We wanted to let you know of the open meeting for the Friends of Burundi which will be on Saturday, April 22nd. at St. Mark’s Church, Kennington. This is opposite to the Oval underground station. We will meeting from noon, bringing lunch, and continuing until 4.00 pm. Francois Nitunga and Theo Mbazumutima will be sharing their vision for the work in Tanzania and Burundi encouraging refugees to return home and helping the church to welcome them. There may be other participants too. IF YOU ARE ABLE, DO JOIN US FOR THIS TIME.
Friends of Burundi want to maintain links with the church and people of Burundi and strengthen the bond through informed prayer.
We have had a lot of rain at Matana, but in the north of the country there is a severe drought. Some places have had no rain for 6 years. All of the church members in Matana diocese have been asked to bring maize or any other vegetable or money to the church service this Sunday, 5th. It will be collected together on Monday and then taken in a lorry to the north. It is wonderful that the Christians of Matana are doing this – out of their poverty.
Thank you for supporting us in prayer.
With our love,
l
