The Bishop’s New Year Message

Dear Partners,

Greetings

The year 2008 has passed away the new year 2009 is at its dawn. I want to use this opportunity to send my best greetings to you all and to wish each and every one of you a Prosperous New Year 2009. I want to thank you all for the prayers you've offered FOR MY Diocese throughout last year and mostly the donations that the Diocese has benefited as generous gifts to enhance the kingdom of God in this Diocese. May God richly bless you.

This year will be full of challenges:

  • response to the homeless and less equipped returnees after 35 years of exile

  • response to the thousands of repatriates who can't cope in the French language schooling system

  • response to the thousands of children who needs more schools

  • response to the extreme poverty that people are facing

  • response to the political situation as we approach general elections in 2010

  • response to the decrease of finances in the Diocese (tithes and offerings) while the demands keep increasing

  • response to the new church buildings which need iron sheets

  • response to transportation and communication means for our pastors and evangelists

Despite all those challenges, we still have hope and we don't want to loose it. You are therefore requested to accompany us in this long journey through your prayers and your generous donations, either personal or parochial. Get in contact with us, use our address or our e-mail when you write, or visit our UCE (Universal Chastity Education) website.

Once again I thank you on behalf of the Diocese of Makamba for your cooperation in enhancing the ministry of the Lord in this part of the world.

Yours very sincerely

Rt Rev. Martin Blaise NYABOHO

Bishop of Makamba Diocese
