Refugees Education Trust, an NGO in Partnership with the National Council of Churches of Burundi (CNEB), has financed the construction of the Administrative blocks to Nyabigina, Canda and Muyange Secondary Schools in the Diocese of Makamba . Makamba High School was supplied with 150 double beds, 300 mattresses and 3 big cooking pans. This generous gesture will motivate the repatriates to enrol and embrace the school education. Free and Fair Elections in Congo

Rev Gatoto Hermes, the Diocesan Secretary, was among the 7 delegates who were sponsored by Christian- Aid Burundi and sent by CNEB as observers in the Legislative and Presidential elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo last July. In Kinshasa , where he observed, Rev Gatoto has to say: “They were free and fair elections, despite of some few irregularities”.


Rev Dr Ephraim Radner visits Makamba Diocese

The Rev Dr Ephraim Radner and his daughter Hannah from Colorado (USA) was hosted by the Diocese of Makamba from July 20th-August 10th. They were later joined by Mrs Annatte Radner and Isaac Radner. During his stay in Makamba, he was privileged to visit different parishes and people within the Diocese. A tour to Gitega and Matana Diocese was also organized. The Rev Dr Radner has met the House of Bishops to whom he shared his views about the current issues affecting the Anglican Communion. Before leaving the Country Dr Radner said: “The report I heard in my own country about the achievements and the wisdom is true. But I did not believe these things until I came and saw with my eyes.


The Bishop prays for the President

His Excellency the President of Burundi has met the Anglican Bishops in his palace based in Ngozi (North of Burundi) where he shared with them about the socio-political situation in the country. Bishop Martin Nyaboho was requested to pray for the President, his family and the whole country.

  • Youth Camp in Nyabigina Parish : 1000 secondary School students are expected to attend the event
  • Confirmation services to be held in different parishes
  • Ordination of Charles Niyungeko and Philippe Nyandwi as deacons on 27 August 06.
  • Construction of a Youth centre by the youths themselves from 28th August-7th September 06
