MAKAMBA  DIOCESE TIDINGS  April 2006

Easter Celebration

Reports from all parishes disclose that Easter Celebration has been in full security since 1996. Hundreds of parishioners have even spent a sleepless night praising God and celebrating the might resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Some of the repatriates celebrated it for their very first time in Burundi . Praise be to God for all the brothers and sisters who recently rediscovered their ancestors land after so many years in exile.

Mustard Seed Association visits Makamba

Thirty two sons and daughters of formerly Bishops, Priests and Evangelists have made a special week-end (22nd – 23rd April 06) in the Diocese of Makamba to share their testimonies and to challenge the youth to get involved in church activities. It was an opportunity to remember late archbishop Samuel Sindamuka who initiated the creation of the Diocese of Makamba and late John Nkunzumwami, the first Anglican Bishop of Burundi . Promoted to eternal glory, may their souls rest in peace.

More churches roofed now

Ten more churches are being covered with iron sheets in this Diocese with the financial sponsorship of the ACB Trust Fund. This looks like a cup of water on a dry land because so many rehabilitated churches still need to be covered. We appreciate the intervention of Refugee Education Trust in rehabilitating Muyange Secondary School and in building Nyabigina and Canda Secondary Schools in Makamba.

The Bishop meets the Vice-Chair of the Parliement

The Bishop of Makamba has met Mrs Immaculée Nahayo, the Vice-Chair of the Parliement when she visited the administrative province of Makamba from 30April-2May 06. She was joining the people of Makamba in celebrating the International Labour Day.

Died of cancer, late Mr Niyonkuru left a wife and 6 children. May God Almighty reward him in a peaceful place in heaven.

Prayer request

Pray for so many evangelical crusades organized in secondary Schools. Let us pray so that God can provide a good message for our students in their farewell crusades as they prepare to end their school year before vacation.
