Visit to the Diocese of
Western Tanganyika
The Bishop of Makamba Diocese,
the Rt Rev Martin Blaise Nyaboho, together with some
Diocesan staff visited the Diocese of Western Tanganyika in
Tanzania from 10-13th Feb 06. Christians in Kasulu, Headquarters of the Diocese, were happy to
welcome such visitors. In three parishes ( Nyumbigwa, Nyansha
and Murusi Mission Centre) they visited, they were welcomed with
a crowd of songs and dances. The purpose of the visit, as the
Bishop mentioned, was to testify that now peace prevails in
Burundi
and call the repatriates to come back and build their country.
" It is the first time since 1972 we see such a bishop from
Burundi coming to visit refugees in Camps", testified the
refugees in Mtabila Camp where they participated to the
ordination of two Burundian Deacons Stanslaus Niyungeko and
Jonas Sindamuka.
At the end of this visit, Dr
Gerard Mpango, Bishop of the Diocese of Western Tanganyika
promised to continue the partnership with Makamba Diocese. Accompanied with
Choir, he will visit Makamba this year.
